Review of It's Complicated (2009) by Kevin R — 24 Dec 2011
You've gone native. I was into it.
Jane and Jake have been divorced for almost twenty years and have gone their separate ways to become successful business individuals. They are reunited when their youngest child graduates from college in New York. Strangely, they begin having feelings for each other and initiate an affair of sorts. As they spend more time around each other, they will need to decide if this can be a long term relationship or if too much has changed since they were separated.
"I prefer a lot of seamen. I always have.".
Nancy Meyers, director of The Parent trap, What Women Want, Something's Gotta Give, and The Holiday, delivers It's Complicated. The storyline for this picture is very interesting and unpredictable and unique to the genre. There is a nice blend of comedy and family drama mixed throughout the picture with clever dialogue and great acting. The cast includes Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin, and Lake Bell.
"I thought we were going to break the bed.".
It's Complicated was a movie that was recommended to my wife by our neighbors. I was surprised at how entertaining this movie turned out to be. I thoroughly enjoyed the pace of the movie, the characters, and the overall premise. This is an entertaining picture that is worth your time.
"Home sweet home.".
Grade: B.
