Review of It's Complicated (2009) by Jasen L — 02 Sep 2012
If anyone was ever "not" the target audience for this "Over 50" comedy it would be me. That said, it was enjoyable enough to watch. The theater was filled with "Over Fifty" girlfriends who just laughed uproariously non-stop from beginning to end.
The premise: A women in her 60's has an affair with her ex-husband who has remarried a young hot single mom of one. Let the hilarity ensue as they try and keep the infidelity a secret from their three 20 something kids... it really is complicated:( Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin are Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin so the acting and timing is brilliant, John Krasinski is still Jim from "The Office" but I like Jim from "The Office" so no complaints there. The whole thing takes place in Santa Barbra California in the summer time and as I write this review it's winter in Toronto, needless to say I got caught up admiring the scenery, swimming pool and Tuscan bungalow in which the bulk of the movie takes place. Overall, mildly humorous predictable little flick. Your parents will love it.
