Review of It's Complicated (2009) by Luke R — 31 Dec 2012
Another movie that hot weather caused us to see at the cinema, but it was another movie that ended up being just a little bit middle of the road.
Meryl Streep was, just... Meryl Streep. She is rather good, but I'll never go out and see a movie just because of her. I really don't have anything else to say about her at all.
There was nothing special about this movie, but its not a movie aimed at my demographic anyway. Alec Baldwin is very good and he kept my interest in the film going.
The other highlight was The Office's own - John Krasinski. Playing essentially his character from The Office, Krasinski is excellent and provided some much needed comic relief to the movie. The movie may have been a bit "drab" and flat without him.
I have been a fan of Lake Bell (Boston Legal) but I had a problem with how her character was portrayed (they could have given her character some shade of light). Instead she was a bit cartoonish and just mean.
Overall, this movie is okay - but not one I'd watch again in a hurry. It's intended audience (mostly females) will like it a bit more then me.
