Review of It's Complicated (2009) by Derek B. C — 05 Apr 2013
My strongest reaction in this movie was the casting of Alec Baldwin. He can do the comedic elements of this role. Unfortunately, perhaps because I have been conditioned to his dry humor in the Capital One commercials, I have a hard time seeing his seriously now.
By contrast, Steve Martin can do well in both the comedic and serious moments. Baldwin does play a more believable "slime bag womanizer" type of character much better than Martin would, but this part was not that simple.
Overall, a good movie with some great sets and a very good performance, as usual, from Meryl Streep.
