Review of It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown (1992) by Davey M — 18 Dec 2012
It certainly doesn't hold a candle to the original special--many of the jokes fall flat, lost in translation from the page, and the "Peanuts" characters feel strangely anachronistic stuck in the early 90s, the voice acting seems a bit off, and the saxophone rendition of Vince Guaraldi's iconic theme certainly does it no favors--but there's also a lot of really great, completely hilarious bits.
None of the staying power, melancholy, or perfection of "A Charlie Brown Christmas," but, taken on its own terms, it's a fairly fun, charming Christmas special.
