Review of It's Alive III: Island of the Alive (1987) by Sam B — 04 Dec 2008
As cheesy as these films are, the quality really hasn't deteriorated as much as one would think from sequel to sequel. I think it has a lot to do with writer/director Larry Cohen returning each time, but if 95% of directing is casting and you really couldn't go wrong with pre-"Law & Order" Michael Moriarty as the cynical and sarcastic Stephen Jarvis; a pleasure to watch in between double-visioned point-of-view shots from the mutants and their savage killing spree.
