Review of It's a Wonderful Life (1946) by Mack H — 02 Jan 2012
A pretty perfect film about the dreams of man being grounded by realism, and man still coming out on top in spite of reality crashing down around him. I have rarely felt for a fictional character the way I did for George Bailey.
The themes are vast while still keeping themselves to a small, personal scale. The cinematic elements are used flawlessly, and the film is genuinely funny when it tries to be. Balances everything it does with wisdom, and contains some of the most genuine, loving, heartfelt lines written in cinema.
