Review of It's a Wonderful Life (1946) by Kevin D — 16 Feb 2012
Capra and Stewart work pure magic in possibly the greatest feel good movie of all time! Each scene is packed with so much tenderness, joy, love and emotion. The film works so well because we feel as if we're living alongside these characters.
We go through Stewart's George Bailey's life every step of the way with him: from childhood to his sometimes troubled adulthood. Any time something affects him, it hits the audience just as hard.
Stewart truly makes this film. His performance is outstanding in every way imaginable. This film gave me goosebumps on several occasions ("I'll give you the moon" scene is EPIC) and the film's conclusion gave me a bliss of ecstasy I will never forget.
It's a Wonderful Life is truly a gem.
