There's a reason that the original copyright wasn't picked up on this movie and it was broadcast for free for years. it wasn't received well when it came out and its not very good now. its hackneyed, tin can acting and just not colorful.
not the classic it is deemed to be. totally worth skipping if Christmas story or Christmas vacation are on. or really anything else for that matter.
