Chock full of great heart and sincerity, Capra's tale of the use of one's life earns its classic status without a doubt. Headed by a towering yet human performance from Stewart who sells every concievable thought & mood, the script is loaded with emotion, but presents flawed, human characters whom we can see, and have seen, as real people in normal life, thus escaping cheap saccharine.
