Review of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) by Peter H — 19 Dec 2011
Stanley Kramer's ITS A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD [1963]: One of the most impressive comedies of the 1960's, ITS A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD with its huge list of big name comical actors of yesteryear appearing on one screen in an over -the- top slapstick extravaganza with one or two small cameo's from the likes of the master of that style comedy like The Three Stooges & Buster Keaton, is one mad cap film.
When a group of strangers come to the aid of a car accident beside one desert highway somewhere in the US State of California, the dying driver of the car tells them who he has buried a large sum of money under a big W. This sends the group of strangers on a wild slapstick race to the site where the money is buried with destructive results. This is one highly entertaining film which gets a solid 80% from me.
