Fields at his best. Kathleen Howard is perfect as the overbearing Mrs. Bisonette, but Jean Rouverol is rather bland as his daughter. The opening scene around the dinner table really hits home and the backporch scene, which Fields originally did on the stage, is the highlight of this film.
