Review of It's a Disaster (2013) by Brandy F — 18 May 2013
Well done movie. Plays out realistically unsettling as the bigger questions aren't answered; you and all your friends could die together and not even know who caused it, if it's the end of civilization or just your city.
It covers the characters that aren't accounted for in most apocalypse movies -- typically either the first to die (from belting Kelly Clarkson to being plucked from their car and dragged head first by an alien) or the ones leading a band of brothers to safety in Iowa, which if happened in reality, would be most of us.
The time they predict they will die is enough time to know it's happening, but not enough go be a hero. The relative casualness of such an extreme movie genre plateaus the tension that puts you in the movie unsure if "is this really 'the end'?" Refreshing armageddon movie.
