Mars is almost as big as Texas. Maybe it has monsters.

The first shuttle to Mars contains thirteen people and looses contact with Earth. They are unable to return to Earth and a rescue ship is sent to retrieve the survivors. The rescue ship finds one survivor that somehow managed to survive with limited rations. Initially, it is believed the survivor lived at the dispense of the missing; however, it quickly becomes apparent that something else may be responsible for the missing passengers.

"There's usually a reason an intelligent animal kills.".

Edward Cahn, director of Gun Fight, The Gambler Wore a Gun, Cage of Evil, The Music Box Kid, Curse of the Faceless Man, Voodoo Woman, The She Creature, and Born to Speed, delivers It! The Terror from Beyond Space. The storyline for this picture is fairly straightforward but the acting is far superior to most pictures within this genre. The cast delivers their roles and line well despite comedic special effects and costumes. The cast includes Marshall Thompson, Shirley Patterson, Kim Spalding, and Ann Doran.

"Every ounce of the edible fluid in his body is gone.".

It! The Terror from Beyond Space recently aired on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) double feature night (they actually aired four monster movies). We looked forward to watching these science fiction pictures and this may have been the best of the lot. The acting and characters were wonderful and the movie was fairly well written; but again, is without a great monster. I do recommend this science fiction classic.

"This is either where we die or it dies.".

Grade: C+.
