Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Waldo I — 24 Sep 2009
Why does The Edge still dress like he's a teenager? I used to be like, "Bono does charity and stuff, I guess that's cool," and then somebody said, "Nah he's a jackass" and I was like "YEAH FUCK U2.".
I guess I'm more neutral on Jimmy Page; Zeppelin is still really popular among suburban white kids who only want to listen to their parents' music, and that's kinda disgusting, but Page himself didn't seem to have much of an ego. He's just boring.
Jack White doesn't have much reverence for these two, and even makes some sharp comments about U2's lazy, processed sound, but unfortunately that's the extent of the narrative conflict. Other than that it's just three guys talking axe, and only Jack has any substantive points to make. It was those few segments that earned the four stars.
