Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Darren G — 04 Dec 2009
A fabulous documentary.
'It Might Get Loud' works well for several reasons.
One, its three stars are fascinating individuals with very different and intriguing ways of approaching their music. Either singly or collectively, they're always compelling to listen to and watch.
Two, we learn their life stories and the history of the electric guitar through an engaging mixture of personal reminiscence and archival footage.
Three, of course, there's the music - both their own distinct sounds that made them famous, and their jam sessions.
If you watch 'It Might Get Loud' and find yourself playing air-guitar, don't be surprised - and enjoy!
