Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Eka P — 26 Dec 2009
It's not overly guitar techy. They show photos and live footage of all three that I haven't seen before. Page explains the double-neck Gibson guitar that he used for live performances of Stairway To Heaven. Jack White tells the story of and plays a vinyl record of his favorite song of all-time.
You see them visiting their early rehearsal spaces. The footage of teenage U2 is interesting because it shows how far they progressed, although The Edge seemed like the standout member of the band. You see TV footage of a pre-teen James Page. Page also tells how he first got into the guitar.
The jamming of all three is sublime. The perform Zeppelin and The Band tunes. But not in a concert setting.
Overall, I really enjoyed this film but it probably won't be of interest to the masses.
