Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Mike G — 03 Feb 2010
About what I expected. If you have no interest in modern guitar or Jimmy Page, The Edge or Jack White then you'll prolly be bored to tears, I wasn't, but I wish it had some better editing and connected together in a more sensible way.
It seems a little disjointed at times, and for a documentary it really shows. It's great to see Page still pretty sharp and in good health and spirits. The Edge is a guy I respect as well, and he's totally devoted to his music and his sound.
Rarely have I seen him speak this much, and he's really thoughtful and intelligent about what he does. Jack White clowns around a bit like you might expect and his punk/blues influences seem to get the better of him at times, but there is no denying his raw power.
The thing I want to tell Jack face to face is that you might be able to make a guitar out of a white dog turd and make it hit all the notes and noises in your head, but you're still playing a piece of shit man! :-).
