Review of It Might Get Loud (2008) by Rick E — 03 Oct 2009
It is rare that I sit through a movie and when the credits roll I am honestly grieved that the movie ended. I could have watched another 3 hours of this movie. If you play guitar at any level, go see it.
If you just love guitars, go see it. If you like U2, Zepp, or the White Stripes, go see it. Do not think (like I did) that because you are not the biggest fanatic of all 3 of these artists you may not connect with them.
The wisdom and self-effacing way that Page and the Edge have now shows how much they have grown out of their ego driven youth - they have nothing to prove. From their stories it is apparent they both are well aware how their lifes could have taken a different turn at any point and they could have been, as the Edge says, "Working as a bank clerk somewhere.
" The brashness and energy that White brings to the mix is backed up by his obvious total love of the blues and outstanding performing. He is amazing to watch. I am hoping that when this movie is released on DVD, it will contain hours of bonus footage that must have been cut from the theatrical release.
Go see it.
