Way ahead of its time, and still able to cast a spell of joy and happiness seventy seven years after it was made. MGM sent Gable to Columbia Pictures as punishment, and he got an Oscar into the bargain.
LB mayer was the one who ended up eating humble pie, but not for long. This is Capra at his best, And all of it done in 4 weeks!!
