Review of It Happened One Night (1958) by Nadia C — 26 Feb 2012
This movie was so so so so so much better than what I thought I was going to watch. The reason behind it though from what I saw was that Clark Gable is a freaking boss! Every scene he is in he basically stole that scene.
I really could do without Claudette Colbert...she looks super weird in this film, but the entire movie is actually quite funny at times. The movie is a screwball comedy and its what Frank Capra is a master at.
The movie moves at a much faster pace then the last Capra film I saw, "Mr Smith. Goes To Washington," and I was so thankful for that. I enjoyed this movie, but felt the ending is sort of thrown into the mix suddenly with the tyrant like father switching sides a little too easily.
For all the film buffs definitely give this one a look!
