An important film, historically, and not without charm, but the outdated gender politics give it some creepy overtones. Gable is deeply controlling and Colbert seems like she wants to be controlled. That might make this a good film for people wanting to explore BDSM-type relationships, but it might sit less well with the average contemporary viewer.
