Review of It Happened One Night (1934) by Christy L — 03 Jul 2012
Everyone's on top of their game in what was at the time a controversially risque movie. Capra handles Gable and Colbert with amazing comedic precision in what is to this day one of, if not the best (Some Like it Hot is its competition), romantic comedy.
When a struggling reporter gets the inside scoop on a runaway heiress he must decide whether to return her for money...or keep her for love. This is a plot oh so similar to another early great in 'Roman Holiday.'.
A script to die for and moral dilemmas present in every era. 'It Happened One Night' isn't just a classic, it's one of THE CLASSICS.
