Review of It Happened One Night (1934) by Lord N — 03 Jul 2009
Now this, this is a Best Picture winner. it is one of those films that the Academy looks back at and goes "yeah, we made the right choice all around". this film was really great. I really enjoyed the plot line and the acting was amazing.
Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert both deserved their acting awards for this film. It was the first of three films to win all five major academy awards Picture Actor Actress Screenplay and Director. it deserved all of them.
In case you didn't know the movie Spaceballs is based primarily on this movie and Star Wars. The plot line is more or less the same. also, Bugs Bunny is said to have been inspired by this movie. Clark Gable's carrot chomping scene is said to have inspired bugs' carrot chomping.
all in all, this film is the epitome of what the Best picture winners are supposed to be. a great film. Final Verdict: right on.
