Review of It Follows (2015) by Alainashariff — 28 Jun 2015
I didn't like this movie too much. It was slow-paced, and only the idea of it was creepy. The actual performance didn't give me the frights The Exorcist or The Conjuring would give me because throughout the movie it was just seeing the thing and running. On top of that, the cinematography was a bit dull, but I think that's just me who didn't like that effect. It had some clichés as well, such as the 'guy who doesn't believe in it will eventually die from it'.
Although, despite the realistic teenage look the movie was going for, I would have liked for it to show a bit of history on the topic and them trying to figure out the problem like other movies such as The Nightmare On Elm Street.
Because even though it was realistic and how it would have been handled IRL, I would have liked to know some personal information behind it all rather than it being very vague and confusing and ending abruptly.
That's just my opinion, you could give it a shot but it wasn't that great for me.
