I like to rate films based on whether I'll watch it again and this film though low budget wise was worth another look as the details hidden inside the sounds & backgrounds made me want to analyze it thoroughly.

There were several "nods" to other directors that were obvious to a lot of people; One specifically being John Carpenter's music & pacing. Brian De Palma's long camera pans & patient scenario build-ups were much appreciated, especially in the scene first showing the "Tall Man". And a George Romero tactic provided for the audiences pleasure, when in certain scenes we're allowed to see the "It" in the distance before the characters even know or often never realize "It" at all.

'It Follows' is a genuine attempt to tell a story that I want from the movies I frequent. A slower pace that takes time to develop characters and leaves enough room for the next fright. 'It Follows' borrows from the classical story-telling I grew up with in the 70's & 80's; Unrolling the plot as it progresses & leaving more for your own interpretations & wonders. I liked this movie. I'll collect it along with the other horror genres on my shelf and hope there's a decent sequel. It stole my curiosity and there was so much more left to be told.

Take my advice ... You must see this film.
