Review of It Follows (2015) by Solinvicta — 31 May 2015
The best horror film of the past decade. It Follows is a rarity among modern horror - it's unique and spells out very little for the audience by focusing entirely on eerie atmosphere and constant suspense.
The brilliant musical score elevates the film and provides a retro feel similar to John Carpenter's Halloween. That comparison alone speaks volumes about newcomer director David Robert Mitchell who, along with Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), are breathing fresh life into a struggling genre.
They are directors to keep your eyes on in the upcoming years.
