Review of It Follows (2015) by Doona75 — 08 Oct 2015
First of all, I don't know how they sold to the studio an idea for a sexually transmitted ghost. Just describing the film to someone is embarrassing. As you watch it, you are overcome with feelings of dread and anger that any of these characters could be so stupid.
They constantly lock themselves in small rooms with flimsy doors or giant windows. The girl repeatedly listens to her friends who tell her that nothing is there even though she knows that only she can see the "whatever it is".
The solution to her problem is so obvious that people were yelling it out during the trailers months before it was released. Just fly to another city or even another country and sleep with the first guy who says yes.
It's not like she's hideously ugly or something. Every single thing that's going to happen is telegraphed so obviously, it's like a fifth grader wrote the screenplay.
