I can not understand the hype. This movie is terrible on all fronts. Flat dialogue, toneless acting, insipid plot, empty-headed retread, guileless style "homage, gratuitous shock horror in pursuit of a ham-fisted and played out metaphor.
Do not waste your time. Rent some vintage John Carpenter and save yourself the bother with this tactless, tacky drivel.
