If it falls short on tapping into its "it could be anywhere and anyone" anxiety producer, It Follows still represents a powerful return to form for the recently dire horror genre, featuring a provocative spin on a familiar concept, loads of aesthetically mesmerizing imagery and an unforgettable score that hearkens back to the John Carpenter days.
