Recommendation for this comes from my older brother, describing it as shit hot, or whatever the kids are saying these days.

Before watching any film I like to check out the trailer, just to make sure it's for me, momma don't peddle no shit. The idea as a whole seemed intriguing. It told just enough of the story to have me hooked.

The idea, that something follows you, but ever so slowly adds a creepy undertone, which makes it an absolute gem to watch. It starts out as a teen extravaganza, which is personally my favourite starts to a horror film, being fairly young myself. I find that it helps me to relate to the characters quicker. A problem I found was that a couple of the main characters seemed faceless, like they was just there so she wasn't alone, or so she had someone to be saying things to. It felt like a one woman play, the only other character I felt emotionally invested with was the guy who SPOILER ALERT, had passed it to her.

"It" is a very cool and creepy idea, I can't knock that. Although at times it felt inconsistent of exactly what 'It' was and what 'It' had the ability to do. It'd go from just stood behind the lead actress and grabbing her hair to full on spearing a guy. It felt like it was only there to follow when it is convenient for the suspense of the film, which takes away from the film as a whole. The swimming pool scene at the end was a real let down, I feel that happens a lot with horror films though, that the build up is so good that how could they end it and meet expectations.

I really enjoyed watching It Follows and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good horror movie, it's something different and exciting, Is it a stand out film in the horror genre? Yes. It's one of those films that you're better for seeing, but probably wouldn't watch it again.
