Review of It Follows (2015) by Danny M — 14 Oct 2017
A genuinely creepy film with an absolutely fantastic and simple premise. Strangely, the premise itself, is filled with plot holes, and it could be argued that the characters are so consistently melancholy that the dark tone has nothing to counter it for context, but these things seem to be by the way side.
In fact, I would go as far as to say that you don't really notice them until afterwards. For the running time of the film, what you're really doing is sitting on your seat's edge as the movie manages to eek every last drop of tension out of it's wonderful central idea.
I avoid most horror films because jump scares seem to be the order of the day instead of actual peril and feeling. If you agree on that, I think you'll love this.
