Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Adam M — 20 Jun 2017
Honestly, the deceptive marketing on this movie really just turned me off. Could I have enjoyed it if I hadn't gone in expecting a horror movie? Maybe (though I'll admit that the depressing subject matter and depressing directions the plot goes are just not my usual cup o' tea).
But I take umbrage with the overly praiseful description "what's left unseen can be just as horrifying as anything on the screen". No, it's just a movie about how much it would suck if there's a global pandemic and society breaks down, and people suck just about as much as you expect they would.
