Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Rebecca%20 M — 09 Jun 2017
Marketing was a blatant lie. Would have gotten a better review if everything from the title to the trailer and the poster was not promising something that was not there.
The imagery the movie sold itself on is all only in dream sequences. Its a lot of build up to a pay-off that never comes.
Its one thing to be a slow burn; but you have to actually be building toward something...and at least if you are not do not make trailers and posters promising a horror film when you are really selling a psychological family drama.
Good acting, good direction; extremely bad marketing for a fairly mediocre script.
