Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Chengkfred W — 14 Jun 2017
I can see that this movie tries to create the psychological thrill of the unseen terror and I applaud the efforts for making a horror movie no longer about cheap shots, slashing human meat, and disturbing images of corpses (which this movie still has, minimally). But the movie really falls short on the horror part. In the end of the movie, I was still waiting for the "Aha" moment, or the chill-to-the-bone moment that never came.
Again, I think the movie started off with a good and refreshing way of doing horror movies, just that the horror part did not come through as well as it intended to be.
