Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Bill W — 14 Jun 2017
This film is more of a work of art than a movie. The fact that it was even shown in major theaters surprised me. With its suspense crafted so artfully, one would expect it to be shown at an indie film festival, and with a story so flat, I would've hoped it stayed there.
They say a critic has no heart, which explains the 87% rating. The movie is bright in color, yet dark in its emotional score. It will leave any normal moviegoer in a state of deep sadness and letdown, but apparently, will leave the critics in a mood no short of "That was so good, I'll go write about it online" Please heed the warning and do not go to this film if you even slightly relate the trailer to movies such as the conjuring or insidious, because if you liked those films then you will hate this one.
