Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Libbets C — 12 Jun 2017
The only reason I gave this movie 2 stars and not any less is because it had great potential. The "critics comment" is right that "what's left unseen can be just as horrifying" but this is not the case with this movie. If you haven't seen it, please don't waste your money on it. wait until it's free on Netflix or Amazon Prime. this is a $2.99 movie at best.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
The unseen thing is a fatal illness. it has no name but a painting in the movie, plus the symptoms shows something like the bubonic plague. the 16 year old boys nightmares, as shown in the trailer is the only thing that is in anyway scary, at least his first nightmare, I admit I jumped. but his nightmares are only about him getting sick. The most disturbing thing about this movie is how the parents allow their son to witness and take part in the murder of his grandfather, and the fact that he for some reason feels comfortable sneaking into a crawl space to listen to his parents having sex.
