Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Winny T — 05 Dec 2017
Boring and plodding with absolutely no payoff. "It Comes At Night" is not a monster movie but instead a psychological thriller based around the attempt of two families to wait out a viral apocalypse in a cabin in the woods.
Edgerton is good as usual and the film has a fitting soundtrack and boasts some nice cinematography that really conveys the feeling of isolation the characters must be feeling while simultaneously delevering a nice dose of paranoia by making it clear they are only on the edge of civilization(and death from infection) instead of completely removed from it.
The film starts with a nice slow burn that builds steadily until ultimately just petering out into nothingness midway through the movie. Overall this film isn't bad; it's just a waste of time.
