Review of It Comes at Night (2017) by Bmco K — 01 Jul 2017
Unlike most of the users reviewing this excellent movie, I don't need movies to do my thinking for me. This film is about tension. Impeding threats of disease, violence, hunger, pain and death. Ambiguity is not bad film making.
It's fuel for the viewers' imaginations. Mysteries are exciting because they pose infinite questions and force you to think. Having the mystery solved is fun sometimes, but is not essential to enjoyment of the story.
Unfortunately, most of our fellow movie goers only think when they are forced to think. Too bad for them.
