I get how people would say that the comedy and the romance parts are out of place. However, I kind of disagree! I get why they added humour. It's a story about friends after all. Seeing how they joked with each other gave me the old losers club vibes.
It felt authentic. Moreover, about the romantic scenes: they were not out of place. If you read/watched the 1st movie, you'd see how bev felt after reading the poem. Up until now! I don't think it's cheap romance, I think it's character development.
Overall, I loved everything about this movie. It felt like I was in it. It's that good.
