Review of It (2017) by Jacob B — 03 Mar 2018
It doesn't know what It wants to be. A horror film? A comedy? A drama? These constant tonal changes could have killed the film if it weren't for the fantastic performances, particularly from Skarsgard and Sophia Lillis, It would have been a disaster. The score too is amazing but hugely over the top. I would say that's what the film was trying to be, but, again, the film contradicts itself. It is just a lot of fun to watch so I can't fault it too much.
B+.
