'IT' is tonally a complete mess. Clumsily attempting to blend drama, comedy and horror, but failing to do justice to any of those elements. On top of this, we have boring and cartoonish performances, bland visuals (cliche desaturated colours with a blue- green filter slapped on top, what a surprise) as well as some very cringeworthy cgi and zero scares.
Overall the movie felt like a glorified episode of goosebumps at best, except less interesting. I'd put the films success down to it's marketing, which seems to be the only thing the production did right.
