Review of It (2017) by Rebecca31 — 08 Sep 2017
A movie that needs no introduction. A nightmare brought to life. IT’s back and IT’s terrifying. 27 years ago Tim Curry scared a generation and now IT is back to scare a whole new generation. Bill Skarsgård did to Pennywise the Clown what Heath Ledger did to the Joker.
It’s never easy to successfully reinvent an iconic character and his performance is chilling to the core. Stunning effects, eerie music and a solid cast. You really believe the Losers club are all real friends, their chemistry was perfect.
The tone from the novel has been brought to life in a way that the original never achieved. Sure it gets in its fair share of jump scares but it is well above the cheap and lazy horror movies we’ve gotten in recent years.
The atmosphere is electric. I was blown away, horrified and enthralled all at the same time. It’s a horror movie you won’t want to miss. Go see IT and you’ll float too. Highly recommended.
