Review of It (2017) by Sophia V — 24 Sep 2017
This movie was absolutely amazing! I went to see it (pun intended) two days ago with a friend. I have to say, before she suggested we go, I thought nothing of it, but I'm am so immensely grateful she did otherwise this horror-loving side of myself wouldn't have awoken.
I'm convinced it must've been fate that she asked because IT was honestly the best movie I've watched this year, let alone in my entire life. You often get those horror movies that have the gore, the sudden 'jump-scares', and the depressing underlying vibe, but this one has more than that.
The producers of IT have acquired the perfect balance of horror and humour, whilst at the same time, accentuating the moral of the story-the importance and strength of friendship-making it a horror movie that's actually worth watching.
For the past couple of days after watching IT, I was desperately trying to deprive myself of going to the cinemas and seeing it again, however, I couldn't ignore the hypnotising scenes that were unsettling, shocking, but also liberating, which kept replaying in my head.
I know it won't come out on Netflix for a while (that is, if it does), and I was determined to satisfy my intense desire to see the movie again. And that's why, I went to the cinemas today (this time with a different friend) and watched IT for the second time.
The movie leaves the viewers wanting more, and I have to say, I cannot wait until Chapter Two is made. Until then, I would love to just thank the producers, directors, actors, and others involved in the production of the film, for making a stunning, breathtaking, absolutely incredible movie which was worth every one of my hard-earned twenty four dollars.
