The best part of the movie is the kids and their interactions with each other. There is very clearly potential for everyone of the actors, specifically those for Eddie (Jack Dylan Glazer), Richie (Finn Wolfhard), Beverly (Sophia Lillis), and Bill (Jaeden Lieberher). Chosen Jacobs, the actor for Mike, was pretty underused but potential is still there.

The meaning behind the novel this adaptation takes from is potent and can be related to by all viewers. The movie read at first as a random compilation of these kids we have barely been introduced to being scared, but as the movie progresses and the theme of fear becomes apparent this aspect is forgivable. The film certainly delivers certain shocks and scares, and it also is a surprisingly funny film with charismatic portrayals by the actors of the children and clown alike. Bill Skarskgard is great as Pennywise.
