Stephen King's "It" is one of those rare remakes that outshines the original, and it manages to do this without abandoning the source material, or simply mimicking it. I can't think of another horror movie with as much heart either, and the performances from a group of unknown "Tweeners" is in the same league as "The Outsiders" and "Stand By Me".
The kids will all get the notoriety, but Skarsgard as "Pennywise" the clown was easily among the best performances of the year, if you weren't afraid of clowns before, you will be after watching "It".
Not many horror movies have me looking to see if a sequel is in the works because the acting is so poor, the plot so tired, but I looked up the future plans as soon as I watched this outstanding film.
