Review of It (2017) by Tyler C — 17 Sep 2017
Skarsgard takes Pennywise to a whole new level while most of the kids deliver solid performances. Many characters get buried in the script and Henry is once again given no motivation or reasoning for being the way he is, the movie's only explanation being that his dad is sort of a hard-ass but you probably would be too if you had a son like him.
All in all, this could've been passable if not for horrible CGI effects, cheesy and laughable jump scares that don't match the tone of the rest of the movie and most of all Skarsgard not putting any thought into his performance as Pennywise beyond "not Tim Curry.
" A waste of potential. I hope someone like Netflix or Hulu picks up the rights to the story someday and makes a mini-series out of it or something.
