I went in with low expectations, as I have been disappointed with most remakes in the past; but I was pleasantly thrilled. "IT" provided the audience with a well-balanced combination of scares and heart layered with some darker adult situations.

If I am being honest I was still more frightened by the original Pennywise; his bright colors and painted smile were very out of place in such a scary story, and this version of Pennywise was a bit too dark and dingy to the point of him not really being the scariest part of the film; he just blended into the background.

I applaud the movie for being true to the source material while still making bold choices to try new things.
