This movie made me think of two things. One was the TV ad where the actress says "I'm the stupid teenage girl in every horror movie who goes upstairs to see what's going on". The other was Goonies.
There were times I found myself laughing at the ridiculousness of it all - and that's not a good thing in a "horror" movie.
