Review of It (2017) by Jerry K — 10 Sep 2017
I am giving this five stars. It's rare that a film stays loyal to its source material, but for the most part this one did. Yeah, you can nitpick and look for tiny details to tear apart, but it kept the spirit of the story and that is, ultimately, what counts. I loved the characters and the acting (very organic and real) and I LOVED Bill Skaarsgard's performance as Pennywise. The Leper, the part of the book that gave me nightmares as a child, was done extremely well, and while not everything from the book was included (that would take something like 5 or 6 hours, even if it was just the childhood stuff), enough was to make it feel like the story from the book.
TL;DR, it was fantastic, stop nitpicking small details and making yourselves hate everything; it's a miserable way to live.
